Log utility building on the grounds of Gladwin County Historical Society, Gladwin, MI
the first to be donated (1981), once stood near Skeels in Sherman Township.
It serves as the GCHS blacksmith shop. The blacksmith was an essential part
of community life because all metal work was done locally by hand. Everything
from making horseshoes to making and repairing tools for lumbering and faming.
